Choosing A Programme For Your Child

How are the courses conducted? How will the teacher nurture my child?

All our interactive and engaging online live courses are taught by our outstanding teachers – selected Masters and Honours graduates of the world’s top 20 universities such as University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Princeton University, NUS & NTU, including past top PSLE scorers, Gifted Education Programme (GEP) students and National and International Math Olympiad Winners, and former MOE Teachers. Our teachers are specially trained in Online Teaching and Learning Curriculum and Pedagogy best practices.

The courses are conducted Live Online via Think Academy’s in-house developed, EdTech-powered online classroom learning platform - Think Academy Student App (not Zoom/Google Meet) . Our App is designed specially for effective, interactive and engaging teaching and learning, enabling frequent, quality live teacher-student and student-student interactions, questions and answers, motivating educational games, rewards and prizes! Our teachers have real-time student participation and performance data to actively manage and pace each live lesson, plus provide differentiated learning feedback for each child after every lesson.

Your child's teacher will closely partner you and support your child throughout his or her learning journey. Prior to your child's first lesson, the teacher will have a discussion with you to understand your child’s learning needs and goals. Throughout the programme, your child's teacher will provide detailed, timely feedback on your child's homework and learning progress, regular discussions with you about his or her progress. They also provide timely assistance on any Math questions and clarifications!

Apart from our P1 to P3 Advanced School Math and P4 to P6 PSLE Math Excellence programmes, students will need to attain a minimum score in a timed Online Admission Test at the point of registration for any of our GEP, Math Olympiad and Competition Math & DSA programmes. This is to ensure your child has the foundational knowledge and skills to thrive in our highly rigorous programmes.

The tests range from 30 to 45 minutes each. For an accurate assessment, your child should attempt the Online Admission Test independently at a convenient time in one full setting. Pen/pencil and paper may be used for workings, calculators are not allowed.

Can I enrol my child for more than one programme within the same level, e.g. both P2 Math Olympiad and P2 GEP Programmes?

Your child may only enrol for one programme per level. You may refer to the respective programme's learning goals and content and enroll for the programme that most closely matches you and your child's learning aims.

My child is an advanced learner, can he or she join programmes of a higher level with older peers instead?

Our programmes for each level are designed based on the cognitive development of children at each age. We recommend students to join programmes designed for their level. However, your child could take the course of interest's Online Admission Test and register based on the outcome – joining the higher of the two levels would be sufficient.

If you would like more personalised advice, you may book a 1v1 Assessment with our teachers via the respective primary level's course page . If no suitable 1v1 Assessment timings are available, please reach out to us at WhatsApp (+65 9105 5348) or WeChat (TALSingapore) for assistance.

Can my child join the programme mid-way? Will we receive the course materials and video playback for the earlier lessons?

Yes, when enrolling mid-way through a programme, the programme fees payable are automatically pro-rated so that you only pay for upcoming live lessons and their accompanying course materials and video playbacks. Video playbacks of live lessons taught before your child's enrolment are not available for sale.

You may contact your child's teacher for summary notes on past lessons and use them to supplement your child's learning, and seek clarifications from the teacher.
